Castleross is family owned and managed business where our vision is simple; to preserve the dignity, individuality and privacy of the people who live here, in a manner that is sensitive to their ever changing needs. We are committed to providing high quality safe services while also endeavouring to improve each person's quality of life.
Initial construction work started at in 2002 for a 46 bed traditional home. However as demand for extra beds remained constant it was not long until Castleross grew to a capacity of 70 beds, 19 of which were reserved for our Alzheimer's and dementia specialised care.
After learning about the pioneering 'Household Model of Care' in the US, we decided to establish the same level of care for Castleross. From 2009 to present both ourselves and the centre have undergone a mammoth transformation in both culture and structure, something we are incredibly proud of.
Today, Castleross is separated into five different houses each set out just like "Home", with their own front doors, kitchens, sitting & dining rooms. Our staff no longer wear uniforms and each are assigned to a house where they offer dedicated and consistent person centred care. Our Homemaker oversees all meals and the wellbeing of the those who live there while the Household Co-Ordinator and nursing team head up the clinical needs of each house and team member.
